Turkey Biscuits and Other Hot Breakfast Dishes for A Cold Winter Day
February is National Hot Breakfast Month!
 
In the south, since we’re all about a big, hearty breakfast, we felt this was a holiday worth celebrating.
 
And who doesn’t love the smell of bacon and biscuits first thing in the morning? Waking up to the smell of bacon sizzling on the stove is the best start to any day. 
 
Below we put together our favorite hot breakfast dishes, but who says you have to wait until morning? Breakfast for dinner is acceptable any night of the week! 
 
Ingredients
12 Hawaiian dinner rolls, sliced open
12 pieces of ham
12 pieces of Swiss cheese, cut to fit roll size
1 stick butter, melted
1/2 T. minced onion
1/2 T. yellow mustard
1 T. Moore's Original Marinade
1/2 T. poppy seeds
1 tsp. sugar
 
Instructions
1. Melt butter in small saucepan. Remove from heat
2. To the melted butter add onion, mustard, Moore's, sugar and poppy seeds and stir to mix
3. Separate rolls and place the bottoms in a sprayed 9"X13" oven safe dish
4. Brush butter mixture over the bottoms of the rolls
5. Stuff each roll with a piece of ham and a piece of cheese
6. Brush the tops of the rolls (inside and out) with the butter mixture
7. At this point you can cover and refrigerate up to two days before baking
8. To bake, cover the dish with foil and bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes
9. Then uncover and bake for about 5 more minutes or until cheese is melted and rolls are golden brown
 
Ingredients
1 lb. mild ground pork sausage
1 cup Moore's Original Marinade
1 tsp onion powder
3 cups all-purpose baking mix
1 (10.75 oz.) can condensed fiesta nacho cheese soup
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
3/4 cup buttermilk (water or milk will work too)
1-2 cups Moore's Honey BBQ Sauce
 
Instructions
1. Marinate sausage in Moore's Original Marinade for 30 minutes
2. Cook sausage and onion powder in a large skillet over medium to med-high heat, stirring until it crumbles and no longer pink
3. Drain and cool
4. Preheat oven to 375
5. Mix sausage, baking mix, and shredded cheese in a large bowl
6. In a separate bowl, stir together the soup and buttermilk
7. Add the soup mixture to the sausage mixture, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened
8. You can use your hands to scoop the mixture into lightly greased mini muffin tins, filling to tops of cups
9. CAREFULLY, place the muffin tins into the oven and bake for 15-18 minutes or until lightly browned
10. Serve with a small bowl of Moore's Honey BBQ Sauce for delicious dipping
 
Ingredients
8 turkey slices
8 slices Cheddar Cheese
½ cup Moore's Original Marinade
4 biscuits cooked
 
Instructions
1. Bake your favorite biscuits, either homemade or store bought
2. While biscuits are baking, soak thin slices of turkey meat in Moore's Marinade
3. Cut Cheddar cheese slices to biscuit size
4. When biscuits are baked, put cheese inside with marinated turkey 
5. Microwave until cheese starts to melt (30 seconds to 1 ½ minutes), time depends on size of biscuits and microwave

1 pound of quality thick cut regular or Applewood bacon
1/2 cup of light or dark brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon of spicy dry mustard
2 teaspoons of chili powder
1/4 teaspoon of Cajun seasoning or cayenne pepper, or to taste, optional
Chopped pecans, optional
