On-the-Go Snacks for Your Little Leaguer
Spring is officially upon us, and with spring comes baseball and soccer season. Taking the kids to little league practice, softball games and soccer tournaments is once again a part of your weekly schedule.
One of the most difficult tasks this time of year, besides driving a car full of hyper kids around, is getting them properly fed while rushing them from school to the field. We can be of assistance in this area, so we gathered a list of snacks that will make this spring season just a tad bit less hectic.
Check out this snack for Moore’s Monster Mix that you can take with you to those daily practices, as well as those day-long tournaments.
Moore’s Monster Mix
2 tbs. Moore's Original Marinade
1 12 oz box Crispix cereal
1 cup nuts
2 tsp. lemon juice
Dash of sugar
1/2 tsp. onion salt (or powder)
1 tbs. Worcestershire Sauce
1 cup pretzels
6 tbs. margarine melted
2 tsp. garlic powder
Dash of seasoned salt
Combine all ingredients with melted butter.
Bake in a 13" x 9" x 2" pan in the oven at 255° for 45 minutes while stirring every 15 minutes.
Variations: Add and subtract seasoning to taste. Add bagel chips, puff balls, etc. to try different textures. Add M&M's after cooking for a chocolate kick.
When you’re dealing with children, never leave home without something to eat. In fact, you should always have some “back-up” snacks in the car.
Give this recipe a shot! You and the kids can munch on these while you’re on the way to practice, or while hanging around the field for an all-day competition.
And maybe bring some extra to share. Not everyone’s going to be as prepared as you are.
