Bootyque based in Fairhope, AL was created in 2012 by Patrick and Kathy Banks. Bootyque is a professional barbeque team competing mostly in KCBS. Occasionally, they compete in FBA, MBN, IBCA, BCA and GBA events. During their first 3 years, the team competed in 3-7 events and then in 2014 they got serious about competing.
Some 2014 highlights include winning their first grand championship, advancing to the Sam’s Club National BBQ Tour finals in Bentonville, AR and winning the rib category at the Memphis in May World BBQ Championships. 2015 was a challenging competition year however, there were a few big highlights, winning the World Food Championship pork category in Kissimmee, FL and an impressive 2nd
place rib finish at Memphis In May.
In 2016 Bootyque got back to basics and experienced tremendous success competing in 41 events in 15 states. They were a finalist at the prestigious World Food Championships in Orange Beach, AL finishing 7th
out of almost 100 teams. They have multiple first place category calls in chicken, ribs, pork and brisket. The team has multiple 180 perfect scores in KCBS including two coveted perfect perfects. They are also multiple 700 club members for KCBS.
Bootyque would not be as successful without their sponsors. The team is also a founding member of Operation BBQ Relief. While not competing, they mentor others in the BBQ family and work with local charities directly or consulting. They plan to compete in 35-40 events in 2017. They have been approached by several investors about opening a restaurant in the near future!
